West Wales farmhouse needing extra space
A stunning setting for this natural stone extension gave us a great challenge, with the local planning restrictions due to its setting within the National Parks and the requirement to use locally sourced materials yet still stay within brief enabled us to really show our abilities and the skill set of the builder. Whilst we had to maintain a building that sat at ease with the existing farmhouse yet gave the customer the space, light and design they wanted, the build still had to comply with the stringent current Building Regulations both structurally and thermally. A steel sub-frame was engineered that allowed us to support the main roof and provide stonework to the gable end yet enjoy a glazed 90 degree corner to one side to provide a minimum obstructed view across their garden and surrounding countryside. A very satisfied customer that has continued to use our services and happily recommend us.
